The Body:  Designed for Self-Healing

The body was designed by God to specifically heal itself.  It was not programmed to get sick, but it was programmed to respond to the stimuli it receives.  So sickness is in response to something.  It could be undernourishment -- mentally, physically, and/or spiritually. It could be toxicity -- mentally, spiritually, or physically.  It is likely a combination of both.  The body responds negatively to stress, a poor diet, and/or a poor lifestyle.

The architecture of the body is more complex than any structure ever created in the history of mankind.  The internal communication system is more elaborate and sophisticated than the Internet.  The body is outfitted with well-equipped armed forces (the immune system) to defend and protect against unwelcome invaders.  Drugs, doctors, surgery, supplements, and so-called miracle tonics do not cure anything; they can only work in alignment with or in opposition to the body’s internal self-healing mechanisms.  The body does the healing itself by the power of God and His created nature working in it. We just need to cooperate with it and provide the opportunities for healing by our choices.

Pain, suffering, and disease are just signals that something is interfering with the body’s ability to function naturally and optimally.  When we automatically accept something as incurable or chronic, we are only reflecting the limitations of our knowledge of God’s great design of our body and what He has provided for it.  Even hereditary conditions don’t need to be accepted as something that you will of necessity have to suffer through. Many hereditary or genetic conditions mostly mean that if you do not cooperate with your body’s natural wellness and healing abilities, then that is the particular way sickness and disease will most likely manifest in you.

The truth is, you have to decide how you are going to live – what you will eat, how you will eat it, what you will think, what you will watch, what you will listen to, who you will surround yourself with, how you will spend your time, how you will relate to money and possessions, and how you will treat your body.  The choices you make will determine the consequences you suffer through or the benefits that you enjoy.   Only you can make the choice, and only you will experience the benefits or negative consequences.  No one can experience your joy or your pain for you, even if they can share in it with you.  Just know that whatever choice you make (the part you can be in command of), what will then follow is mostly out of your control (the part you cannot dictate).  Choose to live life in abundant health – body, mind, and spirit.
